The Nobel price for Medicine 2005 was awarded to scientists who, over 20 years ago, showed that serious stomach diseases, such as gastritis and peptic ulcer disease, are caused by Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). GastroPanel, developed in Finland, is an affordable blood examination that gives reliable diagnosis of H. pylori infection. In addition, GastroPanel examination gives information on the stomach mucosa that previously was only available through gastroscopy and biopsy examination.
